Leanne Citrone is one of those people who quietly sits at the center of everything good and good taste. The restaurants round ups, the renovation inspo, the bags, shoes and wellnessy things you must covet. The recipes! Her ShopMy! Her recommendations are consistently perfection - perpetually stopping myself from buying another Jenni Kayne sweater or grabbing another Row dupe bag on Amazon.
Also, if you’re not following the The English Manor House, you might as well quit Pinterest now.
Leanne is kind of friend who becomes family before you even realize it. We first met when I went to write an article about her for the OG Groomed LA - generously giving me advice about elementary school admissions for Aria, who was in pre-school at the time. Aria is now 20 for reference.
I then taught summer art classes for kids in Larchmont, and Leanne’s daughter Willow, a couple of years younger than Aria was in my class. Soon enough our daughters became besties. Aria named our dog after Willow’s nickname - true story. As soon Leanne (and Willow, AND Michael her hubs who is my official home gym equipment dealer and Global Fitness merch dealer - there is not a DAY that goes by when I am not usually head to toe in this crack) came into our lives - it was like we had a another cozy, loving, always-there-for-you fam in LA. At that time, they were in walking distance from their stunning home in Hancock Park. Heaven.
Not only is Leanne an INN Health Coach but she also happens to be the woman behind some of the best hair in Los Angeles. Former owner of Andy LeCompte Salon, trusted by the kind of clientele who do not mess around with this stuff - and still somehow, she’s the most grounded person in the room. Lucky for everyone she is back to cutting at Flore salon.
And then life did what life does. Last year, Leanne shared her ovarian cancer diagnosis with a level of honesty and strength that stopped people in their tracks. A new layer of public persona emerged for Leanne. The more private or “English reserved” social facing Leanne took a back seat as she charted her story with unabashed candor. Real, raw, and human. Vulnerable.
Leanne shared her journey in a way that shifts your perspective whether you asked for it or not. We experienced her evolution and unfolding in real time - from diagnosis to treatment, insights along the way and now, post-treatment retro and introspecton I was in total reverence, watching the grace she embodied, taking on something so jagged, unknown and terrifying.
Full circle moment. Back when I was Managing Editor at The Chalkboard, I remember thinking, I was so excited for my new job so I could profile my friends and how I could not wait for Leanne to be the first. And now we are here. With even depth, more perspective, and somehow, even more light.
This week, let’s hear what’s working for Leanne.
STACKED (THE NON-NEGOTIABLES)
What’s the one thing you’d never drop, no matter what? Sleep / hydration ( I only drink water and tea. No coffee for me )
What’s your current obsession? Reading, currently reading Broken Country
What’s the one thing you wish you’d started sooner? Meditation and working on the inside stuff
What’s the first thing you do every morning for your health? Shower. I dont drink coffee so its the only way I can wake up.
OVERRATED / UNDERRATED
What’s completely overrated in wellness right now? Peptides.
What’s underrated—something no one talks about, but really works? Sleep. Lots and lots of sleep.
What’s one “boring” thing that works better than all the expensive stuff? Walking and fresh air.
What’s something you thought was hype but actually works? Red light. I notice a big difference when I do it consistently. My skin is tighter and I am less anxious.
THE WEIRD & WONDERFUL
What’s the strangest treatment you’ve ever tried? I recently did the cyber scan. It was wild! Things that the doctor told me were spot on. ( do you want to me explain what the cyber scan is? YES Leanne Citrone - WE DO!!!!!
What’s the last thing you did that felt ridiculous, but you’d do it again? Walking around with no eyebrows and eyelashes post cancer treatment. I would not however do it again.
What’s the thing people roll their eyes at, but it works for you? Psychics and energy work.
GIVE ZERO FUCKS
What’s something you’ve completely stopped caring about? What people think of me.
What’s one thing you refuse to feel guilty about now? Self-care in any and all forms.

I love this series!
