WHAT’S WORKING: The Groomed LA Guide to What’s Actually Worth It
A new column asking one thing: What’s actually making a difference?
Wellness. Cringey AF word, and half the time it’s a sideshow, or an expensive personality disorder. Erewhon $25 sea moss lattes, overpriced IV drips, peptide-stacked morning rituals that need a spreadsheet, and TikTok biohacks that are 90% theater, 10% science.
Is that $400 LED mask a skincare device or modern sculpture? Are half the longevity secrets just disordered eating with better branding?
What’s Working is the antidote: the stacks that deliver, the weird hacks that are secretly genius, the fails we’ll roast, and all the overpriced wellness theater we’re happy to skip.
This isn’t about optimized halos or punishing routines. It’s about feeling good, strong, and actually happy. Sometimes that’s strength training and NAD+ patches. Sometimes it’s Aperol spritzes at two in the afternoon. That “dog walk” cigarette break.
Self-optimization isn’t a religion. It’s figuring out what actually makes life better—and letting the rest go.
We’ll talk to the people who set the tone in this space—founders, entrepreneurs, doctors, trainers, beauty innovators, longevity experts—along with some of my favorite people and best friends. Think of it as the Groomed LA version of my podcast: top experts, industry disruptors, and, yes, “normies” who radiate joy, are highly imperfect, and somehow glow from the inside anyway.
I’m kicking it off with my own stack (spoiler: there’s strength training, lymphatic drainage, and a very questionable shaman story). After that, you’ll hear from longevity doctors, entrepreneurs, artists, actors, biohackers, aesthetic leaders, and people who are just figuring it out like the rest of us—joyful, flawed, and thriving in their own way.
So here we go: What’s working. What’s not. What’s worth stealing. Everything else? Buh-bye.
